MLB Superstar Mike Trout to Build South Jersey Golf Club with Tiger Woods

MLB All-Star Mike Trout announced Monday that he is bringing a private golf club with a course designed by Tiger Woods to South Jersey. 

The three-time American League MVP plans to build Trout National – The Reserve in his native Vineland, about 45 minutes southeast of Philadelphia. Plans for Trout National include an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, lodging, a wedding chapel and other amenities.

Trout is working on the project in partnership with local business owners John and Lorie Ruga. The Rugas own Northeast Precast, a precast concrete manufacturer with headquarters at 4081 S. Lincoln Ave. in Vineland that employs more than 475 people.

Two New Hotels Proposed For Deptford’s Growing Rt 41

Two new hotels are being proposed for Deptford’s growing hotel district on Route 41 (Hurffville Rd). They are just starting the approval process and do not have a Deptford Planning Board meeting scheduled as of yet..

The two hotel brands looking to enter the Deptford marketplace are Home2 Suites (Hilton) and TownePlace Suites (Marriot). They are both targeting longer stay business travelers and would be owned by SSN Hotels out of Delaware.

The location for both planned hotels would be directly next to the existing Courtyard Hotel, and run with the bend of Rt 42.

If developed, there would be a total six 100+ room hotels in a half mile stretch of Route 41, in a main thriving commercial district of South Jersey.

Effectively there will be four hotels in a row along Route 42, and the other two are the original Deptford hotels next to the Uno’s restaurant.

D2 Organization Buys 45 Acres in South Jersey

D2 Organization

An affiliate of D2 Organization has bought three vacant parcels and an office building in South Jersey, with plans to develop a trio of new warehouse buildings totaling 586,000 square feet.

The four properties take up 45 acres part of the Salem Commerce Park at 1, 3, 4 and 7 Collins Drive in Carneys Point, about 4 miles north of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The three vacant parcels are 35 acres and the 78,000-square-foot office building is on 10 acres.

D2 bought the properties from Delaware River and Bay Authority. Jack Cortese, a vice president at D2 Capital Advisors, declined to say how much the company paid for the properties. Miami-based BridgeInvest provided $16.1 million in financing to cover acquisition and pre-development costs. Cortese estimates development costs of between $110 and $120 per square foot, meaning the project will run between $64 million and $70 million.

 Nearby, D2 is in the final stages of buying property on the north side of I-295 along Golfwood Avenue. The property is empty and approvals are already in place for D2 and a joint venture partner to build a 587,500-square-foot warehouse. Combined with the Salem Commerce Park development, the new buildings would add 1.17 million square feet of new warehouse space in South Jersey.

Residents Fear Traffic with Approved Evesham Retail

Evesham Board Approved Retail on Tuckerton

An office and retail development next to the Evesham Municipal Complex on Tuckerton Road was unanimously approved by the Planning Board on Thursday night over the objections of residents, who said an increase in traffic would overburden the road.

Tuckerton Developers LLC of Medford got the go-ahead to build a two-story office building and up to six retail stores, including a Dunkin’ Donuts-type of restaurant with a drive-through, on the site of the former Morrison’s Garden Center.

Life Storage brand Storage Facility Approved for Fries Mill Rd Washington Township Next to Verchio’s

The new storage facility when developed will face the Echo Shopping Plaza across the street, where Giant Fitness is located.

The property for the Storage Facility is the same one which was previously proposed to become home to a Royal Farms, which was not approved/developed.

This new Life Storage facility approval was granted April 19th, 2022 at the Planning Board meeting.

42Freeway was not able to attend the Planning Board meeting but has since seen the site plan. We present our own generalized depictions in this article.

Plans for a storage facility at this lot have been approved before. We found ordinances referencing an approval back in 2007, given to a prior owner.

This new effort to develop a storage facility on Fries Mill Road is being developed by Safstor, but will operate as a Life Storage brand property.

Jersey Shore winery owners buy 200-acre Sea Oaks Golf Resort for $6.5M, plan $4.5M in renovations

The owners of the historic Jersey Shore getaway Renault Winery Resort have acquired Sea Oaks Country Club and Golf Resort in a $6.5 million transaction.

Accountable Equity, the private equity group that owns Renault as well as Kent Island Resort in Stevensville, Maryland, closed on the deal for the more than 200-acre property in Little Egg Harbor Township on Monday. The site includes a 194-acre golf course, 31-room boutique hotel, and a 35,000-square-foot clubhouse that contains restaurant space. There is also more than 15,000 square feet of event space including ballrooms, private meeting rooms, board rooms and spaces that overlook Atlantic City.

Accountable Equity is headquartered at Renault Winery Resort at 72 Bremen Ave. in Egg Harbor City, said president and co-founder Josh McCallen, noting that the winery is the second-oldest in U.S. history and opened when Abraham Lincoln was president. McCallen’s company Vivȃmee Hospitality handles hospitality management for Accountable Equity’s existing properties and will do the same for Sea Oaks, which will be rebranded as LBI National Golf & Resort.
