Voorhees Town Center Redevelopment Depends on State Tax Credit Approval

Voorhees Town Center redevelopment hinges on New Jersey tax credit

The former Echelon Mall in Voorhees, New Jersey is moving closer to redevelopment. However, the project depends on securing a $90 million tax credit from the State of New Jersey.

The property has been rebranded as Voorhees Town Center. The latest redevelopment plan calls for a major mixed-use transformation.

The proposal includes nearly 320 new residential units. It also includes the renovation of most existing retail space.

A new parking garage with more than 1,000 spaces is planned. In addition, the project would add parks and green space.

In October, the Voorhees Township Committee approved a redevelopment agreement. The developer is Hoboken Brownstone Co.

Company President George Vallone estimates the total development cost at approximately $220 million.

The site was damaged by a fire, which accelerated the push for redevelopment. Since then, local officials have prioritized a full site transformation.

If the tax credit is awarded this summer, construction could move forward. The project would bring housing, retail, and public space to a key South Jersey location.
