A proposal is moving forward to bring another Super Wawa to South Jersey—this time on nearly five acres of land straddling the border of Voorhees and Berlin Townships. The plan calls for a convenience store and 12 fueling stations to be built between Route 73 northbound and Cooper Road.
The application lists NIKI-J&J Voorhees Cooper Partners LLC as the developer. The project is being advanced in partnership with J&J Development Group, a family-run firm based in Evesham and led by James and Jeff Angeloni. The Angelonis have been behind multiple Wawa developments across New Jersey, including a separate Super Wawa location on Route 73 south near Kresson Road in Voorhees. That earlier project, approved in 2022 despite opposition from nearby residents, has not yet begun construction. NIKI, a commercial real estate investment company based in San Diego, is also involved in the venture.
The site for the proposed store spans four parcels of land—two located in Voorhees and two in Berlin. Local officials will be reviewing the project over the coming weeks. The Voorhees Planning Board is scheduled to hear the application at its next meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, Berlin Township’s Planning and Zoning Board postponed its August review of the proposal and is expected to revisit it at its October 21 meeting.
