Clementon Park and Splash World will permanently close after the 2026 season, ending more than a century of amusement park history.
Following the closure, the owners plan to put the 52-acre Camden County property up for sale.
The amusement park first opened in 1907 as a trolley park. Originally, it helped generate weekend ridership between South Jersey and Philadelphia.
Over time, Clementon Park became one of the country’s oldest continuously operating amusement parks. Later, Splash World was added in 2003.
The property has changed ownership several times during its long history.
In 2011, Premier Parks acquired Clementon Park. However, the amusement park abruptly closed in September 2019.
The property remained closed for approximately two years. Then, Indiana Beach Parks & Entertainment purchased it for $2.6 million in 2021.
Shortly afterward, Clementon Park reopened for the summer season.
Now, the amusement park is preparing for another major transition.
The owners hope to find a buyer interested in preserving the property’s history. Still, the future use of the 52-acre site remains uncertain.
The property’s size could make the sale particularly notable within the South Jersey real estate market.
Large development sites are increasingly difficult to assemble in established Camden County communities. Consequently, the property could attract attention from investors and developers.
However, any future plans would depend on zoning, approvals, infrastructure, and other development considerations.
For now, Clementon Park will continue operating through the remainder of its final season.
Once the park closes, attention will shift toward the sale process and the future of the historic South Jersey property.
